Weather Copenhagen
Copenhagen is located in Denmark and is a wonderful place to visit. Filled with museums, world-class restaurants, historical sites and more, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The majority of visitors arrive during the summer months when the weather is pleasant, all sites are open and the cafes and restaurants employ outdoor seating. Because most people are in the city over a short amount of time, prices can skyrocket. On the other hand, if you don't mind the chill, the spring and autumn seasons are just as beautiful and less crowded with more deals to be had.
Copenhagen is a wonderful place to visit, but you will need to plan your trip according to the weather conditions found in each season. Spring and autumn are beautiful times to visit with smaller crowds and cheaper prices, but if you intend on spending some time at the area beaches, be sure to visit during the summer. Winter is only intended for the hardiest of souls or those who prefer to visit during the holiday season.
Winter Weather In Copenhagen
Unless you are big fan of exceptionally cold weather, now is not the best time to visit Copenhagen. However, if you do choose to visit during this time of the year, do so around Christmas as the streets come alive with numerous holiday decorations.
Temperature
Temperatures throughout the period of December, January and February will see highs right at or just above the freezing mark and visitors will also have to deal with strong cold sea breezes. The average daily temperature for winter ranges from 2°C (36°F) in December to 1°C (34°F) in February. Highs will range from an average of 4°C (39°F) in December to 2°C (36°F) in January and 4°C (39°F) in February.
However, with a strong wind, it will feel much colder than the actual air temperature. Lows will be well below freezing for much of the winter with temperatures 0°C (32°F) in December, -2°C (28°F) in January and -3°C (27°F) in February.
Rain
There is also a good chance of snow with between 20-50mm of precipitation expected each month. Additionally, there is not much chance of sun with only an average of 4 hours of sunshine each day throughout the season.
Spring Weather In Copenhagen
Temperatures begin to warm during this time of the year and it can be a good time to visit as the crowds are still small and there are good deals available on hotels and flights. However, visitors will need to check and make sure that the sites they intend to see have reopened after the winter season. Additionally, while temperatures may be slightly warmer, it is still a good idea to bring a heavy coat.
Temperature
High temperatures are definitely warmer and range from 5°C (41°F) in March to 10°C (50°F) in April and 16°C (61°F) in May. Average overnight lows will also climb to between 0°C (32°F) in March to 7°C (45°F) by May.
Rain
While some snow is possible early in the season, it will shift to all liquid precipitation by the latter part of Spring. Rain amounts will also remain fairly steady from one month to the next with 40mm expected in March, 30mm in April and 40mm in May. Each spring month will experience measurable rainfall on about half of the days of that particular month.
While it is still too cold to visit the local beaches during this time of the year, warmer seawater temperatures are just around the corner.
Summer Weather In Copenhagen
Summer is the height of tourist activity in Copenhagen thanks to the warmer temperatures and the fact that all the sites and area beaches are open for business. However, this also means that tourists during this time of the year will wait in longer lines and have to pay more for flights and hotels.
Rain
While it might be warmer, it can still be rainy with June, July and August all receiving an average of 60mm of precipitation. This rain will fall over an average of 15 to 16 days each month. As a result, visitors will need to pack rain gear along with a light jacket to be prepared against the rain and chill it can bring.
Temperature
Average daily temperatures are the warmest they will be all year during the summer months with numbers ranging from 15°C (59°F) in June to 17°C (63°F) in both July and August. Average high temperatures will range from 19°C (66°F) in June to 21°C (70°F) in July and August. Average overnight lows will still be on the chilly side from 11°C (52°F) to 13°C (55°F).
Sea Temperature
Now is also the time of the year when visitors can hit the local beaches. Water temperatures will range from 15°C (60°F) to 18°C (64°F) in July and August. Visitors can also take advantage of the nearly 13 hours of sunshine each day throughout the season.
Autumn Weather In Copenhagen
Temperatures will once again turn cool quickly during this time of the year and visitors will need to bring a heavy jacket with them and check the extended forecast before leaving home. While the city is beautiful during this time of the year, just be sure to check and make sure sites will still be open during the time you plan your visit.
Rain
In addition to a heavy coat, visitors will also need to bring raingear, as the region will see measurable precipitation over a period of 15 days in September, and 19 days in both October and November. Rainfall amounts will range from 50 to 60mm over the course of each month. Additionally, the precipitation will start off as liquid early in the season, but snow is not out of the question by the time November rolls around.

Temperatures will be dropping quickly over the course of the season with average afternoon highs falling from 17°C (63°F) in September to 12°C (54°F) in October and 7°C (45°F) in November. Average overnight lows will also fall from 10°C (50°F) in September to 3°C (37°F) by the end of the season.

The amount of sunshine will also decrease from an average of 10 hours a day in September to just 5 hours a day by November.
